CRITICALLY LAUDED FINNISH METAL BAND LOOKS TO CREATE “THE PERFECT STORM” WITH NEW RECORD

CHILDREN OF BODOM, the esteemed Finnish Heavy Metal band that features frontman and modern day guitar hero Alexi Laiho has entered Hollola, Finland’s Petrax Studios to begin work on its as-yet-untitled seventh studio album. COB has enlisted famed rock producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Monster Magnet) to oversee the new recording and will remain in the studio through late September.

CHILDREN OF BODOM's enthralling mix of modern heavy metal, melodic hooks and the guitar acrobatics of Laiho have solidified the critically acclaimed band as one of the most revered hard rock acts in the world and one of the leading voices of metal’s new generation. The group’s 2008 studio album Blooddrunk skyrocketed to #22 on Billboard’s Top 200, scored the quintet its third consecutive #1 debut in its native Finland and saw Laiho named “Best Metal Guitarist” by the readers of Guitar World, besting well known players such as Kirk Hammett of Metallica and Alex Skolnick of Testament to win the coveted award. In additional COB news, the band has contributed the song “If You Want Peace...Prepare for War” to the upcoming music video game Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. SLIPKNOT TO RELEASE '(SIC)NESSES' DVD

New York, NY: On June 13, 2009, SLIPKNOT headlined the annual Download Festival in the UK, performing in front of 80,000 of their rabid fans. The performance was absolutely electric, in typical Slipknot fashion, especially since it came hot on the heels of one of the strongest years in Slipknot’s illustrious career.

 

It was indeed a year of “firsts” for a band that was a decade-deep into their hard rock superstardom and dominance.Their latest album, 2008’s All Hope is Gone, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 charts –the first time in their history. Slipknot embarked on a two-year touring trek that was globally successful, playing to packed houses across continents, including their headlining stint at New York City’s legendary Madison Square Garden, which was stacked to the rafters and chronicled by Rolling Stone.

 

It makes perfect sense that the band, known for their eclectic DVD collection, ranging from multi-camera angle concert documents to arthouse-style films, would release (sic)nesses, which captures a special performance at Download. All Slipknot shows are memorable, but this one is particularly memorable, as the band blasted through hits from all of their Platinum albums. On stage is Slipknot in its most natural state and (sic)nesses will put you in the front row.

 

30 cameras were on hand to capture every possible angle of the band as they motored through their parade of hits; the cameras also caught the fans on tape, as they are just as crucial an element of a Slipknot show as the band members themselves.

 
Perhaps most importantly, (sic)nesses is one of the final major performances for founding member Paul Gray, who tragically passed away in May 2010. While initially unintended, the concert is a testament to the legacy of Gray, where fans can enjoy a lasting glimpse of the bassist doing what he loved most. 

Additionally, the DVD also includes a 45-minute behind the scenes documentary created by band percussionist Clown, as well as all four music videos from the All Hope Is Gone cycle.

 

Lastly, All Hope is Gone has gained Platinum status, capping off a passionate, turbulent and ultimately unforgettable album cycle.

American/Sony Legacy invested a great amount of care into making The Vinyl Conflict, treating the albums the way they would treat a great jazz, classical, Bob Dylan or Miles Davis record, something that isn't normally done for metal records. All ten albums have been re-mastered from the original analog flat master tapes and were pressed on the highest quality, 180-gram audiophile vinyl at RTI, the most-respected pressing plant in the U.S. and among the best in the world. Lacquers were cut and re-cut several times to ensure the highest sound quality. The individual vinyl discs will come in a standard, clear inner sleeve to preserve the vinyl, are then housed in high-quality litho-wrapped jackets, and then boxed in a hardcover slipcase. Additionally, reproductions of the original LP inner sleeve artwork were converted to 12X12 inserts.



"The vinyl box is a real treat for fans, especially with today's renewed and increased interest in vinyl," added Sony Legacy's Adam Farber. New York, NY: (August 16, 2010) – As they gear up for September 7^th release of highly anticipated new album AUDIO SECRECY, 3-time Grammy nominees STONE SOUR have announced plans for a special intimate show/record release party at The Studio at Webster Hall in New York City on August 30^th. 

 

The special performance will be available for the entire world to see via a live stream that can be viewed on stonesour.com and roadrunnerrecords.combeginning at 8:30 pm EST.

Among the songs in that night’s set will be hook-laden lead single “Say You’ll Haunt Me,” (currently No. 6 at Active Rock and No. 17 at Modern Rock radio) and hard-charging new track “Mission Statement.” The band recently offered the latter as a free download and the response was massive, as fans downloaded the song more than 1,000 times an hour during a two-day period.  

 

Stone Sour (lead vocalist Corey Taylor, guitarists James Root and Josh Rand, bassist Shawn Economaki and drummer Roy Mayorga) and producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, Deftones) recorded AUDIO SECRECY at Blackbird Studios in Nashville during the destructive storms and devastating floods that hit the historic heart of Music City.

Former Killswitch Engage Singer Teams-up with KSE Guitarist

 Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and former KsE vocalist Jesse Leach are re-teaming for Times of Grace , a brand new band that finds the duo taking a creative left turn, boldly exploring new musical terrain, while fearlessly digging deep into the recesses of their musical synergy. It has yielded a provocative, heavy-yet-melodic result, one that helped each of them overcome personal struggles and emerge from the darkness, more empowered than ever.


The pair's collaborative energy and chemistry obviously yields quality, long-lasting results, as they worked together on KsE's benchmark album, 2002's Alive or Just Breathing. That record has become definitive for an entire generation of American metal, with Leach's voice and uplifting lyrics serving as one of the key elements that propelled the album to "modern classic" status. Leach, who went on to sing for the more classic-rock leaning Seemless and who currently sings for the metal band The Empire Shall Fall, was always remembered fondly by KsE fans, even though he left the band shortly after Alive or Just Breathing's release.

While fans will no doubt be thrilled at the concept of the duo reuniting, Times of Grace, however, are not interested in fashioning Alive or Just Breathing, Part II. It's an entirely new project and represents a different musical path for both Adam D. and Leach! It is an album of cleansing and catharsis for each of them, where internal demons were exorcised and set to music that's as aggressive as it is melodic. The pair are currently in the studio working on their debut, The Hymn of A Broken Man, which is due out November 9 through Roadrunner Records.

"In all my life. I have yet to write a record that bares my soul as much as this record does," Leach said. "Adam and I had a real spiritual connection while making this and I know that it comes through in the performances and lyrics. This record has our blood, sweat and tears flowing through it. It is painfully honest at times. In short this record is our catharsis."

Adam D. also commented on what Times of Grace means for him personally, saying, "Making this record was something completely new for me. It documents some of the most difficult, yet spirited times of my life in the past three-and-a-half years. A lot of the music and lyrics just came out of me while going through several internal struggles, and writing these songs were the only comfort I could find. I reached out to Jesse to help sing and write these songs with me because of my respect for his musical abilities, and because of our great friendship...one that seems to not change no matter what happens in our lives.

"In the end, I am very proud of this record, and I feel it has helped me through some of my darkest days. I'm hoping that people will enjoy it, and also that it can maybe help others to keep the most positive mindset, even through the most trying of times."

The album begins with the percussive, almost militaristic "Strength in Numbers," which pairs layered vocal melodies with thunderously roaring drumbeats; "Fight For Life" bites with ferocity, but is balanced out by Leach's emotive vocals; while "Willing" boasts a more contemplative yet just as feral vibe. Times of Grace aren't going back over ground that its members have already covered; they're moving forward, incorporating stunning, eye-arresting visuals alongside their music, which features rich layers of instrumentation that invite the listener to sift through.

All That Remains will release For We Are Many, one of the most anticipated metal albums of the year, on October 12th through Prosthetic Records / Razor & Tie. The album was recorded this spring at Zing Studios in Massachusetts and produced by Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, who also handled This Darkened Heart and The Fall of Ideals.

Vocalist Phil Labonte told Revolver Magazine in their August issue, “Fans of Overcome won’t be disappointed, but the disc will also offer new twists and turns.” 

All That Remains will be touring with As I Lay Dying and Unearth in September and October. Fans can expect additional headlining dates around the release of For We Are Many. The band will then head to Europe for dates in November and December.

We've had over 70 people working for us on this video so we can easily say it was the biggest production so far. I'm beyond excited! Wait and see…"



Dariusz Szermanowicz of Grupa #13 adds; "This time we decided to make something different. We'd like to make video in 'cinematic' style without so many VFX like in last two videos. BEHEMOTH' -FRONTMAN TAKEN ILL,TOUR DATES CANCELED

The following excerpt is a statement from BEHEMOTH’s frontman and guitarist Nergal regarding his health and the canceling of upcoming tour dates. “Dear All, I’d like to announce that Behemoth won’t be able to tour for the foreseeable future. I don’t wanna bore you with details here, but I’m sick and am receiving some serious medical treatment. It’s gonna take another few weeks or more for full recovery, and so we have been forced to cancel all the Behemoth shows in August, planned dates in Russia and Baltic States for September and October, and our American tour in November. I know how much it sucks but health comes first. I can assure all of you that when we return, I’ll be stronger than death, and we’ll reschedule every tour as soon as logistics allow. I feel good and strong, my mind is focused, I've got my loving woman by my side, my band mates, friends (never thought there are so many, haha), management, agents and label people are giving me massive support. I can’t ask for more but a little patience now. The fact that we won’t be touring for the next few months doesn’t mean we’ll hibernate. Behemoth will be active on several other levels. In upcoming days you can expect the premiere of our newest video, ‘Alas, Lord Is Upon Me’ which is by far the sickest fuckin’ thing we’ve ever done!
